What is a Music Transcription?
A MUSIC TRANSCRIPTION is an EXACT, WRITTEN TRANSLATION of an AUDIO RECORDING or PIECE OF MUSIC
Why Are They Useful?
Whether you're a BEGINNER first learning an instrument, a CASUAL PLAYER working on a favorite song, or a PROFESSIONAL practicing a difficult piece, the ability to read and comprehend the music you hear and play can add so many layers of proficiency, confidence and enjoyment to the musical experience.

How Does it Work?
STEP 1: CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST. PLEASE INCLUDE:
WHAT SPECIFICALLY YOU'D LIKE TRANSCRIBED
WHERE WE CAN HEAR IT ONLINE (STREAMING, WEBSITE, DROPBOX LINK, ETC.)
YOUR PREFERRED NOTATION FORMAT (SEE BELOW)
STEP 2: WE WILL LISTEN TO AND TRANSCRIBE ALL THE NECESSARY PARTS BY EAR, AND GENERATE CLEAN, EASY-TO-READ SHEET MUSIC, READY FOR PRINTING OR DIGITAL SHARING.
STEP 3: YOU WILL RECEIVE A LINK TO A SHARED FOLDER CONTAINING PDFS OF ALL TRANSCRIBED MUSIC--BOTH FULL SCORE AND INDIVIDUAL PARTS--AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL PROJECT (SIBELIUS) FILE.
STEP 4: YOU WILL THEN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMMUNICATE ANY NECESSARY MODIFICATIONS OR CORRECTIONS FOR A FINAL REVISION.

Professor Adam M. Baumol (B.M. Percussion, M.M. Music Theory/Composition) is a full-time musician, performer, educator, composer, arranger, transcriber and audio engineer, currently residing in New Orleans, LA.
With over 30 years of diverse, musical experience (including 15+ years as an educator), Professor Baumol brings passion, energy, creativity and focus to every project. He has performed, recorded and toured with countless bands, appeared on dozens of records (original projects and session work), and maintains a regular teaching schedule of private students.
More recently, Professor Baumol created a music education program for young musicians called Band Together NOLA, which gives students the opportunity to learn how to work, practice, rehearse and perform as a group. Learn more HERE.
Professor Baumol is thrilled to begin offering music services online and remotely, allowing for greater flexibility and connection with friends, colleagues and students across the country and around the world.
